Usage
Oil lamps can be used as a source of light. They emit a light level of 15 (which is one more light level than torches) and will burn for 2,000 in-game hours by default, when filled with the maximum amount (250 mB) of fuel. Blue steel lamps filled with lava will burn infinitely.
Filling a lamp is done by Right Click on the (container with) fluid you wish to fill it with, or through the barrel/large vessel interface. Lamps can be filled with any liquid, but not all liquids will work as fuel.
Olive oil is a valid fuel for all lamps. Lava is only a valid fuel for blue steel lamps.
Oil lamps can be extinguished by Right Click them. This will preserve fuel. Right Click again relights the lamp.
Lamps need to have a solid side of a block underneath them. They will break if you try to leave it flying.

79.18 | Lamps give off the same light level as glowstone, instead of the light level of torches. | |
79.20 | Oil lamps can still be recycled in a crucible for 100 units, but they must contain no fuel and the crucible must be heated to the melting temperature of the lamp's metal. |
